Participants Indonesia Premier League (IPL) continues to shrink. Now only 13 clubs who will participate after several teams chose to leave and play in the Indonesia Super League (ISL).
The 13 clubs that will participate in the IPL is Persiraja Banda Aceh, PSMS Medan, Semen Padang, FC, Persija, Persiba Bantul, Persijap Jepara, Persibo Bojonegoro, Persema Malang, Arema Malang, FC, PSM Makassar and Persebaya Surabaya.
"We've recapitulation that there is a reduction in the number of clubs, so far 13 clubs that participated IPL 2011/2012 season,''said the CEO of IPL, Widjajanto.
Actually at the time of formation of the IPL competition is planned to be followed by 24 teams. But the amount was later reduced to 18 for six teams choose to play in ISL. The newest Persib Bandung, Mitra Kukar, Persidafon Dafonsoro View events and also chose to move to ISL.
ISL itself was a recommendation from the Board of Professional Sports Indonesia (BOPI) as a legal competition so they can start the competition which is planned to begin December 1.
